Earlier in the week I wrote about the number of new squad cars, possibly 20-25, that are stored inside the building at the Nelson Road facility.
Behind the chainlink fence is a junk yard. And it's junk that belongs in the Route 14 junk yard, not on the County property behind this building. At least, not for very long.
From the looks of some of the vehicles they have been there quite a while. Can you just imagine the oil, anti-freeze and transmission oil that is leaking into the soil there?
Why are those vehicles kept there, and for how long does the Sheriff's Department store them? Is every one of them connected to an active crash investigation being conducted by the Sheriff's Department? I say, finish the investigation and tell the owner or his insurance company to come and get them. If they don't, put the wheels in motion fast for a salvage title and get rid of them.
