Gas pump skimmers in SE U.S.

Media are reporting theft of credit card numbers, when drivers gas up at pumps in the southeast U.S., particularly along I-75. Thieves have installed credit card skimmers inside gas pump housings, and some are using BlueTooth technology to transmit data.

Do you always reconcile your credit card statements and confirm that all charges to your account were made or authorized by you?

If you find suspicious charges on your credit card, report them to your credit card company and get directions on whether there are additional reports you should make; i.e., should you call the FBI to report possible skimming or will the credit card company promptly report the possibility?

Have you ever found unauthorized charges on your credit or debit card statement? Do you reconcile your statements? Vote in this week's survey.
