Today's Northwest Herald carries a story on illustrious (NOT) Sgt. Greg Pyle and why he is still drawing a paycheck.
"Pyle
has been receiving pay for benefit time earned during his more than 10
years with the
department, according to Sheriff Keith Nygren. That
includes unused vacation and sick and personal days.
The story gets better.
"'Any employee who has accrued time is entitled to it,' Nygren said. '(Greg Pyle) never used any of his time off and even if we fired hjim, this is money has earned.'"
Pyle has never used any of his time off in ten years???
Does anyone know anyone who has ever drawn on accrued benefits before his employment was terminated?
And what rule of Human Resources protocol is Nygren breaking when he reveals anything about an employees compensation or benefits? I'll bet that Nygren cannot legally stop Pyle's current pay without severe discipline and hauling him before the Merit Commission. If Pyle is drawing on benefits, what's happening to his regular pay? Remember? Pyle is on PAID administrative leave! Not "unpaid".
Nygren is on the ropes, of course, taking punch after punch, trying to make it to the end of the round without getting a 10-count.
And in how many criminal sexual assault cases against a minor (and a family member at that) does the newspaper print the blather from the defendant's attorney?

Some people that apparently know the county contract and pay system caught Nygren in a big fat juicy lie. Go read the comments at the NWH. I wonder if the NWH has the guts to check it out.
Lets treat EVERYONE that way.
