Remember last January, when US Airways Flight 1549 landed in the Hudson River? Watch this flight simulation with actual audio. Capt. Sullenberger was a hero then (although he won't say so) and is today.

After the landing, reports emerged of his lifetime of preparation for such an event; study, thinking, mental practice. Pay particular attention to how calm he remains throughout.

This was not a "crash"; he flew the plane right down to the landing.

I had to smile as I listened to the controller ask him what he needed. I kept waiting for him to say "about a mile of concrete".
