Another stupid proposal in Washington, DC

From the Illinois State Rifle Association:

"And speaking of blaming legal, law-abiding firearm owners, Rep. Bobby Rush (IL-1) thinks you should be fined $10K if you don't get 'liability insurance' for your guns. This has nothing to do w/ 'safety' or 'common-sense' and everything to do w/ banning gun ownership."

From the WashingtonTimes.com

"New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney's Firearm Risk Protection Act says that all gun buyers — before they buy — purchase and show proof of “a qualified liability insurance policy,” and that those caught owning a weapon without the insurance are subject to harsh fines.

“'It shall be unlawful for a person who owns a firearm purchased on or after the effective date of this subsection not to be covered by a qualified liability insurance policy,' the text of the bill states."

I don't suppose they bothered to check and learn whether any casualty insurance company even issues such a "qualified" policy.  The office of my own insurance agent tells me that my policy covers me, but I intend to write to the home office of my insurance company and try to get an answer on paper.

But for me to become a criminal and risk a $10,000 fine (thanks to, among other non-thinking elected Congressmen, one of Illinois' finest, Bobby Rush)? Bobby Rush couldn't even stay awake at the townhall meeting held on February 2 by State legislators at I.I.T. He is way past retirement. Does he realize that he will cause massive arrests of otherwise law-abiding people throughout Chicago, who can't even get renter's or homeowner's insurance policies, much less a "qualified liability insurance policy".

Bobby Rush: "In 1968, he went AWOL from the Army and co-founded the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers." Wikipedia

Rush is the moron who wore a "Trayvon" hoodie on the floor of the House.

Rush was a black, radical, terrorist. His presence in the US House of Representatives is a disgrace to the nation, his race, and to the people of Illinois.

Bobby Rush and the Black Panthers
Scared the crap out of Old man Daley
Da real mayor back in the 60's

So Da mayor wanted to regulate the amount of guns the black Panthers were amassing, so the FOID card was invented..Thanks to Bobby Rush and his Group....
Here again, it shows how Chicago controls the State...
Da mayor's plan backfired, Black people were NOT going to get FOID cards...

Imagine that, a gang member trying to dictate who should and should not have guns and under what circumstances.....I think I truly have found the twilight zone.
