ISRA thanks Jack Franks

This week's message from Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association, follows:

"On Wednesday we saw what can be best described as a “Horse and Pony Show” in the gun rights debate on the Illinois House of Representatives floor. These debates truly define who are our friends and our enemies. Representatives Bost, Brauer, DeLuca, Costello, Franks, David Harris, Ives, Kay, Phelps, Reis, and Sacia and maybe some others I missed truly stood up for our Second Amendment rights in Illinois. We owe them for their efforts.

"On the attack against our rights, and espousing the Chicago line, we were Cassidy, Will Davis, Feigenholtz, Sims and Zalewski. It is good to remember these names also. They say they support the Second Amendment and then do whatever they can to undermine it. These people claim they are only after gang bangers and other criminals but the fact is there targets are really law abiding gun owners-you and me! The laws they are trying to pass will mean nothing to the criminals. This fight is far from over so we must all be aware what is going on and who is doing what.

"I urge you to join the Illinois State Rifle Association if you are not a member and recruit a new member if you are a member now. Starting today I want you to call you State Legislators and tell them you want no gun bans and you want a shall issue CCW bill."

HB0997 is stuck at 48 co-sponsors. Of those 11 Representatives named above as supporters of the Second Amendment, only Jack Franks and Anthony DeLuca have not yet signed onto HB0997. If/when they do, there will be 50 co-sponsors. Will that break the logjam? Call them today.

Rep. Jack Franks, (815) 334-0063, Woodstock
Rep. Anthony DeLuca (708) 754-7900, Chicago Heights
