Signs, signs, everywhere a sign

More signs are sprouting in McHenry County.

It seems that those who are doing the Fall Planting are not demonstrating good manners. They are not pounding on doors to ask if they can place their signs on private property, and they are irritating more than a few folks in McHenry County.

At least, this one tells you where to go. Getting told where to go in McHenry County is not a rare occurrence.

But, when you get there, you aren't a whole lot better off, because you can't find out who is behind the effort. Two names do appear on the website named on the sign: Andrew Gasser and Melissa Denker. But are they behind these signs and NoCountyCzar.com? Who is responsible for dressing up Jack Franks?

Is NoCountyCzar or "McHenry County Republicans for Lower Taxes" an assumed name that needs to be registered in McHenry County? That registration might only cost $5, but the organization will then get nicked for about $100 in publication fees for a little "ad" in a paper for three weeks.

Is there a penalty for not registering? Who acts as the Assumed-Name Police?
