Got (Metra) dirt?

If you have information about dirty deeds at Metra, you can contact Metra's Inspector General on a new tip line.

According to a Chicago Tribune article, Metra's acting executive director is now to report monthly to the Board on increases in pay and benefits for any employees. Board member Larry Huggins thought that might be “micromanaging” Metra operations.

To some extent, he is right. If Susie, down on the customer service desk, gets a 25-cent/hour bump in pay, should the fat cats at the top of the pile have to waste their time reading or hearing about it?

“'Other than the fact that we’ve had one little incident that came up … (abuse) is something that is not systemic in this operation,' (Larry) Huggins said." (Chicago Tribune)

Cal Skinner's McHenry County Blog (www.mchenrycountyblog.com/) comments on that remark of Metra Board member, Larry Huggins, and suggests that "Phil Pagano’s theft of about $50,000 a year for ten years" is more than "one little incident".

Agree?

Anyone wishing to report allegations can call the hot line at (877) 482-4962 or send an e-mail to Metra's Inspector General at metraig@hillardheintze.com
