Take a good look at the article on www.mchenrycountyblog.com by retired Dr. Richard Gorski. He comments on Cal Thomas' article in the Northwest Herald yesterday.
How long does it take for a politician to lose contact with his constituency?
It took Melissa Bean about a year. Initially, replies to correspondence seemed to have a personal tone. Then the speech writers and "constituent services" people took over, and responses became "canned".
Even her robocall for the PR visit at the Woodstock Jewel had the wrong location- an address of a store that closed four years ago! Did she make it to the right spot? I didn't even bother to go for a picture. I missed any coverage by either paper.

Who knows if the meeting with Bean even took place? I was hoping you would go, Gus, just to verify that there was a meeting (and where they ended up holding it).
