Customer service compliments: Woodstock; Greenwood Township

Today I was trying to track down the location by telephone of a pothole on southbound Queen Anne Road, just south of Charles Road. The northern city limit of Woodstock is not marked there, and my stepson had hit a pothole there last night - hard enough to cause possible damage to the right front tire, rim and alignment.

After looking at a Woodstock map on Google Maps and the City's Zoning Map, found on the City's website in the Community & Economic Development Department section, I called Woodstock's Comm./Econ. Dev. Department and Public Works and got great customer service.

Then I called the Greenwood Township Highway Dept. The Highway Commissioner was out, but a woman there was very helpful and friendly on the phone. When Commissioner Don Goad returned the call, he too was very helpful.

He said that, while he wasn't aware of any potholes in his township's jurisdiction on that stretch of Queen Anne Road, he would send out a crew and they would fill the pothole, even if it was in Woodstock's jurisdiction.

Now that is service! My thanks to each person who helped me today.

I'm awaiting a return call to Woodstock Public Works, so I can learn the claims procedure, if the repair will be expensive.

It's always nice when people do more than they have to do. It's rare and definitely worth noting.
