New Illinois legislators not listed yet

OK, for how long has the State of Illinois known that many new members of the Illinois House of Representatives would be sworn in yesterday?

Wouldn't you think that the webmaster for the House, and Speaker Madigan, would have had names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and biographies ready to publish at 12:15PM yesterday?

Am I right that new members were sworn in yesterday, Wednesday, January 10? And that Dave McSweeney was sworn in yesterday.

Then how did (newly-elected) Rep. Dave McSweeney (R-Barrington Hills) vote No on Tuesday on the driver's licenses for illegal immigrants bill? The box in the print edition of the Northwest Herald, citing "ilga.gov" as its source, listed McSweeney's vote.

Thanks for voting No, Dave (if you did).

Rep. Jack Franks voted Yes.
Rep. Mike Tryon was absent for the vote.

The Associated Press article reported that as many as 250,000 illegal immigrants would be eligible to apply for the "cards" (special driver's licenses?), and they have to prove auto insurance. I guess there will be a lot of one-month auto policies issued, so that the registrant can show "proof".

Look at the boon for law enforcement. It will have a ready-made way of identifying people who are in the U.S. illegally. And, here, I thought this licensing baloney was going to be bad. Sign 'em up. Help 'em pack. Chicago, of course, thumbs its nose at illegal immigrants; it's a sanctuary city!

Congratulations to the webmaster at ilga.gov for getting the legislators re-posted. A few are missing street addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, but most are listed now.
