Open carry picnic at Fairgrounds!

No, not at the McHenry County Fairgrounds. Not even in Illinois (of course). But at the St. Croix County Fairgrounds, Glenwood City, Wisconsin. Just a nice morning's 310-mile drive from Woodstock.

The 3rd Annual Open Carry picnic will be held on Sunday, August 21, 12:00-4:00PM. And it's free. (Donations accepted.)

Common-sense gun rules apply. If you go, be sure that you understand the laws for transporting your weapon in Wisconsin and wearing it at the Fairgrounds. Concealed carry does not become effective in Wisconsin until November 1, 2011, and then only by permit.

On its website are the following words of Suzanna Gratia Hupp, author of From Luby's to the Legislature, "How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual…as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded, controlled, supervised, and taken care of."
