Deer Misses Cop

An Indianola, Iowa, police officer on patrol got a surprise last week when a deer jumped over the hood of his police car.

Watch the whole, short clip. The first part is a still frame, but action follows. Getting surprised by a deer on a country road is one thing, but getting surprised right in town is another.

I was through Indianola back in the early 1960s, when there was a sports car track there. It's somewhere in the vicinity of Guss, Iowa, which is on my Bucket List of places to visit. Maybe 2009 is the year. Hope I don't encounter that deer on my motorcycle!
