Off to (MDA) Jail at 4:00PM

Today is the day I'll be locked up at 4:00PM in the MDA Jail in McHenry. Yep! It's true. And they'll throw away the key until I raise $800 or 5:00PM, whichever comes first.

Rumor has it that they'll give me a phone and let me use my own Address Book. I was going to offer to be jailed at 2:00AM. I figured that, if I made calls at that time, you would be home and the line wouldn't be busy!

There might be a few who would tell them to throw away the key, but I invite the rest to pitch in and bail me out. You know, of course, it's not for me; it's for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This is their annual "Jail" fundraiser.

Raising My Bail Money

As I wrote recently, I've been busted, and the warrant is out for my arrest! I'm begging now for bail money - lots of it.

OK, OK, I'm going to "jail" for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on April 14. It's "that" time of year. They even offered to send a "deputy" for me. But no way am I getting in the back of a patrol car with those funny inside door handles that don't open the doors! (All right, I know; they wouldn't send a real deputy! (I hope...))

The timing is rotten, of course, because I was going to do my taxes that day, but this is more important!

Warrant out for Philpott!!!

I was alerted this afternoon that a warrant has been issued for my arrest. All I can say is, it's a good thing I'm not in Woodstock!

You know that phrase, "You can run but you can't hide"? Well, I've already run, and I'm hiding now. (Actually, I like Greg Kachka's t-shirt language better, "Don't run. If you do, you'll only die tired.)

And get this! The bail is $800.00.

But I'm not to be arrested until April 14th at 4:00PM. And then I'll get one hour on the phone to raise $800, so that I can be released at 5:00PM.

What's it all about? This year's Muscular Dystrophy Association fund-raiser! Ha! Gotcha!

It's a good cause; when your phone rings, I hope you'll answer. This year's event is being held at Chili's in McHenry.
