Sen. Kirk - hiding from voters?

After getting fed up with Sen. Kirk's cheery voicemail greeting at 202.224.2854, I decided to press "3" and speak with a staff member. Ha! I should have guessed - another recording.

Sen. Kirk is voting with the Democrats on firearms' legislation. If you think he is wrong, please call and tell him so.

Does he listen to messages left for him? Do members of his staff even listen to them? There is no way of knowing, since his office doesn't call back and doesn't reply.

Maybe he should not have returned to work after his stroke. He had - what? - a year's vacation. Did he collect his $175,000 (or is it more?) during his period of recuperation? Is he even fully recuperated?

We have the right to expect full-time, sharp, inquisitive, mindful, intelligent work from each of the 100 U.S. Senators. He ran as a Republican? Is he, or is he a closet Democrat?

I expect him to fulfill his oath of office and to respect, observe and obey his duty to the U.S. Constitution. Voting for the gun-control issues of the Democrats is not upholding the U.S. Constitution!

The restrictive gun-control legislation being pushed in Washington, D.C. will lead to revolution. We loyal U.S. citizens will not tolerate policies and laws that will lead to confiscation of firearms and abandonment of Second Amendment rights.

"... all enemies, foreign and domestic..." What part of that does he not understand?

So glad that Senator Kirk voted the way that 90% of Americans believe ALL of our legislators should have voted - thank you Senator Kirk!

90%? I don't think so. Your name, please?
