I've been reading newspapers for 55 years, and I have never - ever - seen a sentence like this one, taken from an "updated" electronic version of a Northwest Herald story.
"Seipler was placed on paid leave in July 2008 and then fired in November 2008 after ticketing an apparently white passenger instead of an apparently Hispanic man who was driving without a valid license."
The story, if you want to read it for yourself, is at www.nwherald.com/articles/2010/01/06/49750612/index.xml
OK, the word for today is "apparently." Yesterday's word was "repugnant."
