Where's the crime?

Ever wonder what's going on in your community in the Crime Department?

If you live in Waukegan, Roselle or Itasca (or even Chicago!) or a very few of the many other Illinois cities and towns, check out this website:

http://www.crimereports.com/

You can see just what types of crime are occurring and right where they happened.

If you'd like Woodstock (or your town or city) to be added to the list, contact your city manager or administrator, your mayor and the members of your City Council.

For Woodstock, you can find the names and email addresses at http://www.woodstockil.gov/

On the CrimeReports.com website it is described as "a web-based tool developed explicitly for the purpose of helping law enforcement agencies communicate directly with the public. Using high-impact maps, search features, automated neighborhood email alerts, and your crime data—agencies are empowered to easily manage and publish important crime information.

"(It is) public-facing, affordable, widely used, quick and easy to set-up and maintain, measurably improves transparency and communication with citizens."

You are spot on here, but as I have said before, I think there is something else going on here with respect to Woodstock PD non-reporting ... and it's not good.
