Don't drink that water!

Woodstock residents are forewarned about your tap water.

Periodic hydrant flushing will be conducted in Woodstock west of Route 47 from April 18-22. Public Works says that water "discoloration" will occur. Yeah, right.... It might look like .... well, you know.... Every year they say "The condition will not present a health hazard...", but the only caution is to check the water quality before doing laundry and to avoid doing laundry while hydrants are being flushed in your area.

Hydrants east of Route 47 will be flushed from April 25-29.

The City does not say, "Don't drink that water." Me? I'm not drinking it. One look at the water, and you won't want to drink it, either.

Suggestion: lay in a good supply of bottle water. And bathe early in the day before hydrants are opened.

Woodstock municipal water is almost non potable. We have drunk bottled water for many years. We don't even use it for cooking.

Why, gee... didn't you read all about water in the new Woodstock City Scene?

The Annual Water Quality Report is published, beginning on Page 65. Ever see it before?

It starts off with "During 2010, your tap water met all USEPA and Illinois EPA (IEPA) drinking water health standards."

Now, don't you feel better?
