Should Illinois ban gun magazines over 10 rounds?

Sen. Antonio Muñoz (D-), of (where else?) Chicago, has filed an amendment to SB 1002 to ban all gun magazines over 10 rounds. Think he is nuts?

Call your own Illinois State Senator today and call Sen. Muñoz at (217) 782-9415 and at (773) 869-9050. Sen. Muñoz (and all Illinois State Senators) hide from the public by not publishing their email addresses.

When you read SB 1002, you see first of all that it is one of those infamous "shell" bills. What is notable about a shell? It's empty. Like the heads of some of the Illinois State legislators. OK, just "some" of them... I don't mean to insult all of them.
That Bill, also introduced as the shell bill by Sen. Muñoz, now has its first amendment, which is to ban "large capacity ammunition feeding devices". What is "large capacity" to Sen. Muñoz? More than ten (10) rounds.

Not 100 rounds. Not 30 rounds. Not 15 rounds. "More than" ten rounds. That would be 11 rounds (or more).

Under Sen. Muñoz's bill, you subject yourself to Class 4 Felony charges if you knowingly deliver, sell, purchase or possess a magazine that could hold 11 bullets.

Sen. Muñoz's district office is at 1836 West 35th Street, Chicago. That's between Ashland and Damen Streets, not exactly the safest place in Chicago.

When might he wish that citizens had pistols or rifles that could hold more than ten rounds? Let's say that some irrational person or criminal decided to attack Sen. Muñoz or his staff. Let's say he needs immediate defense, and let's say that the Chicago P.D. officers are minutes away, perhaps at shift change. Won't he wish that there was a responsible, law-abiding, licensed civilian available to help defend his staff and office?

IF POSSESSION becomes illegal this will be a great day for magazine manufactures. Imagine replacing all the exisiting mags out there. I have 7 magazines that are 15 Rounds, several that are 13 another 6 or 8 that are extended mags increasing capacity in single stack handguns to 12 (or more). I love ABC 7 Chuck Goudie referring to the "CLIPS". Dumb ass doesn't know the differece between a clip and magazine.
