Ill. G.A. continues to stall on concealed carry

Why does the Illinois General Assembly continue to stall on a concealed carry bill?

They knew on December 11 that they had to act within 180 days.

Why didn't they get busy then, scratch their heads, scratch elsewhere, and get serious? Do they think the issue will just go away, if they tear the June page off the calendar and hit the snooze button?

The G.A. doesn't have until June 9 to act, because the legislature goes home on May 31. That means they've got this week, next week and one week after that - a total of three weeks to send a bill to Gov. Quinn.

Sen. Kwame Raoul (D-13) is apparently set to continue his scheming away that won't come anywhere close to the standard of a fair and equitable bill. The Dems in the Illinois House will fool around with more dumb ideas like $1,000,000 special liability insurance (insurance companies don't even issue such policies, so where would you buy one?) or a separate concealed-carry license for each gun you wish to carry.

Will some State legislator scoop up Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart's hare-brained idea of a $300 fee for a concealed-carry license?

Forty-nine States (out of Obama's 57) have figured out how to pass some form of concealed-carry. There must be some Democrats in those states.

Right-to-Carry should not be a political football. The blood of Democrats and Republicans is red and spills when shot. The wish for a peaceful life and freedom to walk the streets, even the Woodstock Square, is not Republican or Democratic.

Of course, you may not be able to enjoy the Woodstock Square, if you are armed for self-defense, because the City of Woodstock may forbid concealed carry in City Parks. Will it?
