Koziol Petition - Friday morning

Sgt. John Koziol's Petition for a Special Prosecutor to investigate Undersheriff Andy Zinke gets up to bat again tomorrow morning, Friday, November 2, at 9:00AM in Judge Meyer's courtroom, 201.

Last week Judge Meyer gave the office of the McHenry County State's Attorney a week to show up with what he may hope is their decision whether (or not) to take on the case. There was a puny excuse last week - something about a cast on someone's arm preventing his appearance. When there is an important case in court, an employee can see his doctor in the afternoon - after court hours.

Will the State's Attorney decide to investigate the Undersheriff for the alleged leaking of confidential information about a DEA investigation to the president of a company thought to be the destination of a truckload of drugs and also closely connected by contributions to the Sheriff and the Undersheriff?

A lengthy Petition was filed on October 23. It sounds like Judge Meyer doesn't plan to endure an extended period of hearings, as he did in 10MR000011, which was Zane Seipler's petition for a special prosecutor to investigate Sheriff Nygren.

Sgt. Koziol's Petition is clear and cuts right to the bone. It is specific. It is detailed. It needs to be investigated thoroughly and immediately. The allegations shouldn't be swept under any rug, and they shouldn't be allowed to gather dust in a long series of monthly continuances.

Where is Sheriff Nygren? Is the battery dead in his cell phone? Why isn't he re-assuming command of the Sheriff's Department and requiring Zinke to step down while the stormy clouds hover over McHenry County? The allegations are very serious

They deserve straight-forward, clear, concise, honest reporting by the media. No spin. This is not a political issue. The primary election for Sheriff is more than a year away. This is a criminal issue!

Yeah, yeah, I get it, they are ALL important criminal issues to you.

Here's an idea, instead of telling us how someone drove 1 mph over the speed limit in front of you and then you posted their picture on the internet, why don't you carefully explain why we should believe someone who just lost a job they had for a very long time ... where the first thing they do is make an attack on the guy who transfered them. (insert anything but speculation here)

Also, carefully explain how this is a McHenry County issue and not a DEA issue. Explain why if this is such a super big deal, there is not a federal indictment ... maybe then we would join you and gather the pitch forks and storm the castle.

(that's literally never gonna happen).

I am going to make a bold prediction here. You're wrong again.
