The November 10th meeting of the McHenry County Sheriff's Department Merit Commission has already been canceled. And it's only the second day of the month. Usually they wait until just a few days before the meeting to dump it.
Does it have no business to conduct?
The October 13th meeting was canceled. The Commission did meet on September 8, and on its agenda was ... well, you really can't tell.
The way the agenda is created, it is impossible to tell what business will be handled. Most agencies prepare something more complete that the plain vanilla agenda with no detail that the Merit Commission uses. As a routine matter, the agenda includes "Executive Session", whether the Commission intends to conduct one or not.
This Commission is a hand-picked "team" of five Nygren supporters who nod their heads when poked, somewhat like the little rubber doggy in the back window of a car that bounces over railroad tracks. Has it ever taken a position contrary to something that Nygren wanted?
Would he have replaced quickly any member who didn't nod when poked?
Minutes of the September 8th are gathering dust somewhere on the second floor of the Administration Building and will sit out of the public view until the next meeting of the Merit Commission, whenever that is held. December? January? February?
