Beth Bentley - gone 184 weeks now

Beth Bentley vanished on the week-end of May 20-23, 2010. From Centralia, Ill. Or maybe it was from Mount Vernon, Ill. Or maybe it wasn't from either place.

Is this "only" a missing-person case?

What suspicious circumstances were there before she vanished? Was there any information to which she was privy that might have put her in harm's way? Were there any personal factors that could have become an embarrassment or a problem?

Was her cell phone used to order a pizza from Pogue's Pizza in Mount Vernon at about 5:00PM that Sunday? A pizza that was reportedly never picked up, according to a now-former employee of Pogue's. Did police ever attempt to determine the location at which that call was placed?
Why is this important? Supposedly, her cell phone "pinged" in McHenry County late on May 23, 2010. What if the pizza order had actually been called in from a location in McHenry County, as a deflection or distraction or red herring? Cell phones, of course, can be used almost anywhere. The phone didn't have to be near Mount Vernon.

What other suspicious circumstances were there late Sunday night, May 23, 2010, right here in McHenry County (300 miles away from Mount Vernon)?

Why has this case never been re-classified to a criminal matter? Could it be? Should it be? Is there some important factor that keeps it from being re-classified?

Did police ever investigate whether the rental car (rented by Beth for the week-end) was really ever driven to and from Mt. Vernon? How many miles were recorded on the odometer during the rental period? Were there any I-Pass tolls charged to a transponder in the rental car? Were any unpaid tolls assessed to that vehicle?

Who put gas in the rental car for the return trip? Supposedly, no charges have been made to Beth's credit cards after she vanished. What were the charges between May 20-24, 2010? When was any gas put in the rental car?

It breaks my heart that this has gone on for so long. Too long. Now dammit, law enforcement knows whether her social security number or any other signs of life have been activated/used over these years. If they have not, there is certainly reason to believe that harm came to her and the case needs to be revisited - again and again until the case is hopefully eventually solved. I just don't understand how this hush can remain over Beth's disappearance for so long, especially when there was so much talk back at the onset. As always, it's good to see you still covering her case. Thank you Gus. Still keeping Beth in my prayers.
