Beth Bentley - now missing 159 weeks

Today marks the 159th week that Beth Bentley has been missing.

She vanished sometime around May 23, 2010, from (maybe) Centralia, Ill.

Who really knows what happened to her? A good start would be with the three people who reportedly were in Mt. Vernon, Ill. when she was there.

It is believed that Jennifer Wyatt-Paplham was there. At least, people are pretty sure she was there. She told the police she was there. And she said she dropped Beth off near the Amtrak Station in Centralia, Ill. at about 6:00PM on Sunday, May 23. What did she do after that?

Jenn says that she doesn't know what Beth planned to do after she got out of the car. Yeah, right... (Jenn told me on June 10th that Beth never intended to take the train.)

Why did Jenn drive Beth to Centralia? Beth had rented a car for the week-end getaway trip. She had apparently told her husband that Jenn and she were going to Wisconsin. instead, they went 300+ miles in the other direction. Was the rental car to hide the mileage?

Why would Beth leave the rental car with Jenn, who didn't have a valid driver's license? Jenn's California driver's license had expired on her birthday in 2009.

What did Jenn think Beth's plans were? Take the train north to Chicago and, after a late connection in the Chicago Loop, arriving in Woodstock at 2:00AM Monday morning? What was Beth going to do at 2:00AM at the Woodstock Depot? Go to Jenn's? Did she have a key?

Was Beth going to meet someone who would drive her back north, so Beth and Jenn could meet up on Monday afternoon?

Who was to take care of Beth's 10-year-old son Friday through Monday? Who chaperoned Jenn's children that week-end?

What about the guys that Beth and Jenn were to visit in Mt. Vernon that week-end? When Beth and Jenn arrived in Mt. Vernon on Friday morning, May 21, about 3:00-4:00AM, what activities began?

Did the cops turn over all the stones on this missing-person case? It has never been classified other than as a missing-person case. Is it? Is there a crime involved?

Beth's nearby neighbor in Woodstock tossed out the possibility of a drug overdose in a recent newspaper article. Did she have knowledge of any illegal drug use by Beth? If so, who was Beth's supplier? And who else around her used? If Beth did die of a drug overdose in Mt. Vernon, then there is a huge crime that has never been publicly suspected.

Is there a Statute of Limitations on concealment of a death?
