Andrew Gasser raises questions in an email and on his blog yesterday about payments (distributions) from the McHenry County Mental Health Board (MHB) to Consumer Credit Counseling Service of McHenry County, Illinois (CCCS).
Gasser is Algonquin Township Republican Central Committee Treasurer and Algonquin Township Precinct 4 Committeeman, and he is paying attention. See his blog for the numbers. Basically, he asks why the Mental Health Board paid out more to CCCS than the budgeted amount in several years past.
Ex., "In FY 2010, the MHB granted CCCS $16,767.00 but was actually allocated
$50,090.13. This is $33,323.13 more than was budged [sic] or 298.7%."
For clarity, $50,090.13 is 298.7% of the budgeted amount of $16,767.00. In other words, the MHB budgeted $16,767 but paid out $33,323.13.
Gasser's contact information is on his blog. Follow the link.
The amounts were paid out during the former administration of the Mental Health Board. I suspect that the present administration, under the leadership of Acting Executive Director Todd Schroll, is attempting to learn why that happened and to avoid recurrence. Those actions are not the fault of Todd Schroll. Remaining members on the Board may or may not be able to explain the actions of the previous Boards.
Give the present Board the chance to serve the people of McHenry County who need the services of the McHenry County Board.
