Beth Bentley, Woodstock mother, wife, employee, friend to many and 41 when she vanished on or about May 23, 2010, has now been missing 158 weeks.
Have you read Murder in McHenry? It is mentioned elsewhere on this blog.
The solution to Ron Scharff's murder was known shortly after his death in 1981. Yet it took years to surface. And then almost by accident.
What chance is there that an intense review of evidence concerning Beth Bentley's disappearance will lead to finding her? Is it a question of just putting the pieces to the puzzle in the right order? Or making sure that the right hand know what the left hand is doing?
What if some dedicated people came together and breathed new energy right now into this case? Who might be on the new team?
Family? (Sons, husband, brothers?)
Co-workers? (who worked in the law office with Beth?)
Friends? (The crowd from Gus's Roadhouse? Beth BFF, Jenn Wyatt?)
Niehgbors?
Acquaintances?
Other interested persons (some (or many) of whom had never met Beth)?
If the police will not create a task force for the purpose of finding her, is there any reason that concerned citizens cannot create such a task force, which could even include law enforcement officials in an unofficial capacity, as advisers?
Only one person can be ruled out. No one else can be ruled out. By a process of elimination, a prioritzed list can be created of people who ought to be looked at very, very closely.
