The front door was open. A construction van was parked in front. There was the sound of hammering from inside. But the boards are still up in place of windows.
So it seems that Jenapea's will return. Let's hope...
Why not replace the boarded-up windows with glass? And get a window painter to come by and paint some cartoons of the busy-bees inside. Maybe with a countdown calendar on one window.
Or a "Guess the date we'll re-open" contest.
Or paint a wooden fence on the windows with some peepholes, so that "sidewalk superintendents" could peer through and have some fun.
The fire that closed Jenapea's was Sunday, June 10. Was it really only three months ago? Seems much longer. And it must seem much longer to the owners.
Keep an eye out for the re-opening announcements. They have a Facebook page. Perhaps information will be posted there.
