Should the U.S. Flag be lowered? Ever?

I believe that the United States Flag should fly at the top of the staff at all times.

Including today. Including Memorial Day. Including all the other days.

The Flag of the United States is a symbol of what we stand for. Freedom.

I mean no disrespect to those who gave their lives for this country or those who died on 9/11.

There was no need for Pres. Obama to order the U.S. Flag lowered after the shootings in the Aurora, Colo. movie theater, but he did. The Flag need not be lowered when a past President dies. Or a member of Congress. Or a diplomat. Or a governor.

When the U.S. Flag flies high - all the time, it symbolizes that we never quit. We will never quit. We do not give in. We do not surrender.

I say, Fly the Flag high in memory and in honor of all those for whom, in another day, it might have been lowered. Honor and recognize them by flying the Flag high.
