Punks kill guard in Chicago Aldi

On Thursday night two punks walked into a Chicago Aldi at 90th & Halsted. That's got to be in Chicago's "war zone."

One puke (errr, punk) began to rob the cashier, while the second confronted and then shot the guard.

This is precisely why Illinois must pass a concealed-carry law. If 3-4 law-abiding citizens shopping in that store had been armed, they could have dropped those two punks in their tracks. But, even better, the punks probably would not have been brave enough to walk in and try to rob the store in the first place.

If Illinois lawmakers will not give us the right to carry, then maybe we just ought to start carrying, anyway.

What's that old saying? "Better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by six?"

Read about this crime in the Chicago Tribune right here.

The Tribune and the Chicago Police District 2 did a good job of getting the security video posted fast. The two punks ought to be arrested promptly. The police probably recognized them immediately.

One of the questions I have is what kind of society do we live in where there has to be armed security guards in a grocery store! and the week before another shootout in a phone store with an armed guard,
we definitely need the concealed carry law to pass.

Why do you people believe we need a Concealed Carry Law? We have a law now... It's called the Constitution (Amendment II).
The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights.
In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two Second Amendment decisions. In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. Additionally, the Court enumerated several longstanding prohibitions and restrictions on firearms possession that it found were consistent with the Second Amendment. In McDonald v. Chicago (2010), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits state and local governments to the same extent that it limits the federal government.
We have the Right T Bear Arms. We just do not exercise that right. Shame on us! We abide by these silly ass state laws, which are confusing and are equal from state to state. They make NO sense.
The Constitution (Amendment II) is!
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State.

Maverick50, thanks for your comment.

Why do we need a concealed-carry law? Because the State if Illinois has a law making it illegal to carry concealed.

I can't afford a lawyer to fight the State of Illinois to the U.S. Supreme Court over being arrested for carrying concealed.

What I can do is obey the State law. So I believe I can carry an unloaded gun in a "container", which is what the State law allows. What's a "container"? Container is not defined in the statute. It could probably be a paper bag or lunch pail. It's not a holster on a belt. Could be my briefcase. Maybe it could be my coat pocket, if that's "my" container.

State law does not define container. Of course, I'll have to be concerned about being arrested, being jailed, posting bond, fighting the charges in court, and then suing the daylights out of the cop or deputy and his department and jurisdiction, such as the County or municipality of his department.

More punks ending up in our Graybar Hotel living on our dimes. Robbing stores, drive-by shootings, pushing old lady down the CTA stairs to get her I-Phone.
Don't want Zane to pull a "profiling" on me now, but ya know what "color" those hoods are. I have no stats, but Caucasians seem to have more propensity for white-collar crimes, serial killings, and pedophillia. The african-americans seem to do the individual robberies and muggings. Ever watch The First 48 on Thurs nites? Can't remember when it featured a white punk commiting a crime. Doh.

Gus... thanks for posting my comments above. I thought you might have censored that one due to the dicey "colors" I mentioned.
I try to keep my posts "clean" and humerous, and just deliver my fat-arsed opinions.
Anyway, you got guts Buster! Doh!
