Ronald Who?

So who was Ronald Regan (sic)? Wasn't there a Donald Regan?

No, obviously this sign is meant to remind us of Ronald Reagan, actor, and the 40th President of the United States.

Did you know that Reagan was born in Illinois on February 6, 1911? I didn't, until today. So thanks to Rep. Jack Franks for his sign. It caused me to look up Reagan and learn that he (Reagan, not Franks) was born in Tampico, Illinois. Where's that?

Tampico is located in Whiteside County and about 40 miles ENE of Moline. In 1900 the population was 833; in 2007, it was 731.

Now, about that missing A...

Reagan was a Republican, Franks a Democrat...maybe there's something to that...
