Runners/Joggers in the Street

How can Woodstock get runners and joggers out of the streets? I mean, like, when there is a sidewalk just 4-5 feet to their right.

Easy. Ticket them.

This afternoon on Dean Street a woman was running north along the curb. Running is good for your health; right? Especially when you wear earphones for your MP-3, so that you won't have to hear the cars and trucks coming up behind you.

Maybe all this is really not important. After all, how many joggers have been run over in Woodstock?

Woodstock Fire & Rescue is always happy to respond to calls, and they probably don't get many jogger vs. vehicle calls. They'll get to practice first aid and maybe even transport the injured jogger to the hospital. Maybe they'll even get to call in a helicopter.

The simplest, easiest solution is to ticket the joggers AND to publish it widely. Without the publicity only the one jogger gets the message. With lots of publicity, including the cost of the fine and court costs if the jogger fights the ticket, the word will circulate much faster.

So you are back in the habit again stalking female joggers? You are the one who needs to be ticketed, or better yet taken away in cuffs.

I wonder if a person commits libel by accusing someone of "stalking", when that person merely drove by a jogger in the street and then wrote about it.

Some people are really brave, when they hide behind computer screen names that they "think" keep them anonymous.

Alright then, give me a place and time and we WILL meet. Then we will see who is brave.

Ya know, I enjoy reading your column especially when you expose governmental shortcomings/inaccuracies/wrongdoings. But when you lower yourself to driving around with your camera exposing individual citizens (or aliens) with thier own shortcomings, you just turn into a Paparazzo. When it comes to joggers, parking, no headlights, housenumbers, necking in the park, bycyclists, Farmers' Markets, garbage cans, Jewel parking, etc. I just dont care to hear about that day-to-day societal crap, and you come off as a very small-man. Sorry, but I'm removing you from my IE Favorites... aka- you're fired!

letsgetridofgus, if I were a fearful person, I guess I'd be afraid. Since I'm not, you're on. Time and place? OK. 656 Lake Avenue. Saturday, July 26, 2008., 10:00AM. Inside the front door. See you there. And I'm looking forward to meeting putting a face with a name.

Do you really think I'm dumb enough to come to the police station? I meant in a dark alley somewhere so you wont have the cops to protect you. Only you would want to be in screaming distance of the cops.

And by the way, check the grammar of your last sentence in your last comment retard.

How many people have your "cyber-trackers" hauled off in handcuffs? I think neither the Woodstock police dept. nor the McHenry County sheriffs dept. have enough people to take care of all your demands.
