You can read all about it on http://www.nwherald.com/; search for "Grace Hall" and select "most recent".
This morning an interested party told me that Quinn Keefe, Executive Director of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, had addressed the Plan Commission and had spoken in favor of the demolition. This caused me to wonder whether he had spoken on behalf of the Chamber or if he had made personal comments to the Plan Commission.
If he was speaking as the Executive Director of the Chamber, did the Chamer's Board of Directors discuss the proposed demotion of Grace Hall and vote to endorse the plan of WCLS? On an issue of community and historic importance, it would seem to me that, before the Executive Director could speak publicly on behalf of the Chamber, he would have to know the position of the Board and be so authorized by the Board to speak about it.
Is the demolition of Grace Hall appropriate in the eyes of the business community of Woodstock?
The Plan Commission will continue its deliberations on July 24 at 7:00PM. If you have an interest in Grace Hall or are just interested, be at City Hall that evening.
