Pet Peeve - Blocked Sidewalks

No, you don't need new glasses. I need more coffee. (And to those who are ready to pounce....I stopped to take this picure.)

Today's "pet peeve" is blocked sidewalks. This pair of vehicles blocks the sidewalk in the 100 block of West Todd Avenue on a daily basis.

Probably the garage is full of junk, so the residents park two cars across the sidewalk facing the house. Or maybe there are two other cars already in the garage. A child on a bike would probably end up out in the street trying to get around the cars.

Got any houses in your neighborhood where this type of problem occurs. Just list the address in your Comment.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves that the police do not enforce enough. I HATE when my child has to try and navigate a bike with training wheels on it through the grass, around a vehicle and usually on an incline just to continue along the sidewalk. I can't believe the City would approve the garage addition without allowing adequate parking. The Council, city administration, and the police need to get some balls and start ticketing the vehicles parking on sidewalks! The Police drive by them everyday. EVERYDAY. One town we visited hands out $75 tickets for blocking the sidewalk. I didn't really see any vehicles blocking the sidewalk. Can you say Deterrence? Grow a pair Woodstock!
