Voting Information

You're registered to vote. Right?

March 18th is the Republican Primary. Plan now to cast your vote in this important election. You'll be able to vote early or by absentee or on Primary Election Day. Unlike in Chicago, you can only vote once.

What did Clem Kadiddlehopper say? "Mah friends (and you are mah friends). Don't say you're not mah friends, 'cuz nobody tells me who mah friends are.."  Now, git out there and vote!

Early voting starts March 3.

If you want to vote by absentee ballot, contact the McHenry County Clerk's office (815.334.4242) for an application for an absentee ballot. You can view and print the application online. (The ballots themselves haven't been printed yet.)

Click here and scroll down to "Frequently Used Election Information"
Click on the link for Application for Absentee Ballot (.PDF)
Print it and mail it to the County Clerk's office.

N.B. Be sure to indicate your preference of party for the ballot!

Or go to co.mchenry.il.us
Hover over County Government, then
Hover over "DEPARTMENTS A-I", then
Click on County Clerk
On the left side click on Elections
Scroll down to "Frequently Used Election Information"
Click on the link for Application for Absentee Ballot (.PDF)
Print it and mail it to the County Clerk's office.

If you plan to vote by absentee ballot, order your ballot now.
Expect your ballot by mail.
Don't mail it back less than five days prior to, March 18

If you order an absentee ballot and your plans change and you want to vote in person, take the absentee ballot to the polling place and turn it in. After you turn it in, you can vote at the early voting place or on election day.
