This Friday (7:00PM) and Saturday (1:30PM) students of the Special Education District of McHenry County (SEDOM) will present performances of "Summer Camp 2: the Sequel".
About 70 students will be involved, and many have been preparing and rehearsing for almost a year. SEDOM serves students who are moderately to severely disabled. SEDOM's enrollment was larger until D200 (and perhaps other local school districts) discontinued support of SEDOM and brought the students back into District schools.
Come on out and show your support for these very special members of our community. Tickets are $5.00 in advance at the Opera House box office. Or you can hope you are lucky and get your tickets at the door (also for $5.00).
Gay Szara, SEDOM social worker, is quoted in the Northwest Herald article about this as saying, "There's usually not a dry eye in the place." Bring your hankies!
