Dirty tricks in Springfield?

Tomorrow should be a really exciting day in Springfield. It's too bad that we all cannot get out of the state and watch what happens from a safe distance.

Are we in for a new "high" in dirty tricks? Or should I write "a new low"?

For those who thought concealed carry would be an uphill battle, it has been. And it is. And we aren't at the top of the hill yet.

Will both houses of Illinois government over-ride Gov. Quinn's amendatory veto of HB0183, the concealed carry bill?

If they do, what action will Father Pfleger, Moms Demand Action, the Brady gang and others embark upon to squelch implementation of the new law?

If one or both houses fails to over-ride, then what? Which legislators will make motions to pass HB0183 with new provisions that Quinn wants as stated in his amendatory veto? See www.KeepIllinoisSafe.org and click on the link at the bottom (public safety issues) to see what Quinn has up his sleeve.

Solid "common sense" arguments can be made against every one of Quinn's points on that site.

What happens if a super-majority fails to over-ride the amendatory veto, but enough YEA votes show up on a Motion to pass an amended bill?

What legal action will commence by the NRA and the ISRA?

At IGOLD in March 2013, the NRA lobbyist said he had enough votes to block a "bad" bill. There are a lot of gun owners who think HB0183 is a bad bill, with its high cost to apply for a concealed carry license, high training requirements, lack of reciprocity, excessive gun-free zones and certainly that ten-day window for municipalities to consider an "assault weapons" ban.

Then there is the potential for continued legal action by the Illinois Attorney General.

And in Chicago? People keep dying and getting injured. Will concealed carry help them? Probably not, until the general population draws a line in the sand and tells the criminals "Stop shooting or else".

Gus, is there a specific time tomorrow when they will vote on this or even a time frame?

Cainen, I don't know of a schedule. Could be that there will be a LiveStream broadcast. On Facebook, Pass Conceal Carry might post a link.
