The McHenry County Sheriff's Department Merit Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 9:30a.m. has been canceled.
No surprise there. Meetings are often canceled. Of course, bills won't get approved for payment.
What is surprising, though, is that the Sheriff has never taken formal action against Sgt. Greg Pyle to terminate his employment, nor has he apparently ever forwarded to the Merit Commission any resignation from Pyle.
Remember when the Feds grabbed Pyle and how Nygren said Pyle's arrest on Federal charges just happened to coincide with the ending of Pyle's pay from MCSD? But did Pyle's pay really end?
Is Pyle still an employee of the McHenry County Sheriff's Department, even though he has been residing in the Boone County (Ill.) Jail on a no-bond hold?
Until he quits or gets fired, he is still an employee. The Merit Commission has never acted on any termination request from Nygren, and there is no record in Merit Commission proceedings of accepting any resignation.
Has Nygren forgotten that little detail - that he is to submit resignations to the Merit Commission?
