Woodstock Farmers Market opens Tuesday, May 3

The following message is to all in the area from Keith Johnson, market manager, Woodstock Farmers market. This Tuesday, May 3, is opening day. See you there!

"Hello everyone.

"Another great season is upon us. The producers of the Woodstock Farmers market have been busy. The season has been late, but some of our growers have hi-tunnels that get a jump on the season and you might be surprised at what they have to offer. Our great bakeries have been concocting new treats, our plant producers will have all those vegetable starts you are looking for. What better time to buy your nursery stock or trees than early spring? The hens are laying, the beef is in good supply and we have a new honey vendor who will be coming to both markets. Brian Gerloff will be there with his wonderful Cheese on Saturday along with Steve and his wonderful wines.

"A great many of our vendors are returning and we have added some new ones. Chief among them is Mary who makes chocolates on Saturdays. I know where I am going to hang out. Turtle Bay Naturals with body care products (both days)  and Soap of the Earth (Saturdays) are both back. We have a local kettle corn maker, and wonderful Salad and Sandwich dressing person on Tuesdays. Liz and Tony will be back with their special herbs, dips and seasonings.

"Red Buffalo nursery (Saturdays-native plants), a pet bakery (Saturday), and even some pickles (both days). The only thing that can top that is chemical free, fragrance free cleaning supplies made right here in Woodstock. Support your local economy and come see what we have to offer, listen to some music, visit with your friends. Remember we in Illinois have to celebrate our good weather while we can."
