On Ladies Night Out last Thursday, there was a considerable quantity of trash on the Dean St. sidewalk alongside Angelo's Restaurant at 5:45PM. This did not escape the attention of the City. However, the City has attempted for years to come to an agreement with Angelo's about the trash. And it will try again.
The only result in the past year or so is that the pile is a little neater and a few small wheeled containers are in use.
There is obviously a quantity of trash that any restaurant will produce on a daily basis. Perhaps YOU can offer solutions that can finally resolve this problem. If you create a solution, The Woodstock Advocate will propose to the City Council that it reward you with a Commendation.
OK, how should Angelo's Restaurant solve this problem?

I'm with you Gus. More rules, more fines, follow new rules, pay or go out of business. No wait, then you will complain about another business shuttered because of higher taxes. I'm looking for that advocate-backed citation from the City. Whoopee-frickin-hoo!
This is such a no-brainer I'm surprised Gus didn't think of it. Put the garbage in all those empty stores. I win the prize!!
YES LETS HELP. lets do a community effort and put the trash on gus's front lawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gus, I see you've made buddies with the "Friends of Sager & Webster" fan club above.
Suggestion: Being "landlocked," Angelo needs to park a mobile, heavy-lid dumpster on someone else's property until trash pick-up times. His staff would then retrieve the dumpster on those days, fill it from the overflowing cans that are now kept (in the kitchen?) until trash pick-up days, and then re-park the dumpster after it's been unloaded by whatever service he uses. Simple. Sanitary. Rat Reducing. Disease Eliminating. No additional cost to him.
(I'm sure a friendly merchant will allow him to store this dumpster on their property. It only measures 3 feet by 5 feet.)
I concur that we need not torment one of the only half-dozen remaining food establishments left on the Square after Sager & Webster's tax addiction continues to drive business away. On the other hand, a rat infestation on the Square would quickly spread to Pirro's, Starbucks, La Petitie, Cobblestone's, Jenna Pea's, etc.....
And if those current cans remain out all night, with rats, rabid racoons, and parasite-ridden possums climbing through and all over them, and then are brought back in the kitchen, it could be utterly disatrous for Angelo diners.
No, you're right, something - a win-win solution - needs done here. Keep up the great work Gus.
i may have a solution, but i wont suggest it, not yet anyways, but if it works, the commendation award from the city should be a nite at a STRIP CLUB (vegas club in darien,wi) of my choice, IN THE VIP ROOM
best wishes, the grim reaper
Make Quinn Keefe clean it up. He doesn't do anything anyway and he is always in everybodys business - stuff that doesnt invlove the chamber!
Angelo's can start serving fresh food instead of Frozen and canned crap. I bet that would reduce the amount of trash and maybe make it worth eating there.
