A perv in Marengo?

From a Marengo-area resident:

"On Friday May 4th, at approximately 6:00 p.m., two 12 year old little girls were walking in the daylight near the corner of Forest St. and Dietz St. in Marengo. They heard a loud knock on a nearby window, apparently to draw their attention.

"They turned to look and a middle-aged man was in a house in an open doorway to the outside. He was standing with a white t-shirt on and was exposed from the waist down. He was masturbating. Because the door was open, the girls panicked (thinking he was going to come after them), and ran to the neighbor's house to call the police.

"The police brought a photo line-up to the girl's house. Because the girls were young and shaken up, they couldn't positively identify the man, so there was no arrest.

"Be alert, this address is near the Marengo McDonalds and tons of children.

"Of course, we all know this will not be in the newspaper, so as usual, I have to be your newspaper. I am sending this to the paper...we'll see what happens. Don't hold your breath."

An example of good, solid police work. Right? Do you suppose the police went to the perv's door and asked him WTH was going on? Have they staked out his house? Any previous complaints?

Did the cops interview the guy? Did they tell him they'd have to take his picture, with his wearing only a t-shirt, so they could get a positive ID from the girls? Did the cops really think those girls were going to stand around long enough to look at the perv's face?

OK, which house is it? What's the address? Is the guy already a registered sex offender? How close to the school is the house?
