There must be something going on in Woodstock shortly after 5:00PM. Guess I'll have to break down and pop for a scanner.
Two police cars just roared up Lake Avenue f-a-s-t toward the Square. From the engine sounds and how fast the sirens came and went, my guess was 60MPH toward the Square. Sure hope no kids in the 300-400 block of Lake Avenue were in the street.
Anyone know what was going on? Couldn't have been a bank robbery. The banks are closed.
Doing it again, huh Gus? Guessing at speeds?
ReplyDeleteI think you should have ran out in front of them an ordered them to stop!
"Stop! In the name of your wannabe Sheriff!"
You should do that next time! Get a close up look at how fast they are going! I am sure they will try and go around you! LOL!!
I've heard before that people who make fun of or insult what someone else does is jealous. Gus, are you jealous you cant use lights and sirens? Seriously, get a life. "OH NO THE EMERGENCY VEHICLES ARE GOING TO AN EMERGENCY!" Hurry, to my blog!
ReplyDeleteBut you'll be the first to complain when you call for a police officer or ambulance and they don't get there fast enough...
ReplyDeleteActually, I won't be the first to complain. And I won't complain at all. It is imperative that operators of emergency vehicles drive them safely, so that they arrive there (period).
ReplyDeleteAnd, if police or deputies are not using emergency lights or siren, then they are to obey posted speed limits and stop at stop signs and traffic lights (except in certain and very limited traffic circumstances).
How's that for a novel idea?
Response times may lengthen. So be it.
WPD racing to catch 2 smokers within 15 feet of a business!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone told Gus yet that smoking violations are handled by the Illinois Department of Public Health or should we let him find out on his own.
ReplyDeleteFrank, drop by Woodstock City Hall and pick up a copy of Brochure 5, Administrative Adjudication. You'll learn that "The City of Woodstock Administrative Adjudication Court hears, or may hear in the future, these types of cases:
ReplyDelete...
Smoking Tickets"
Shop locally. The local court will be happy to accept your fine.
Next time your in trouble...call a crackhead...he'll come to your rescue. Its not like this is a small town and you can hop-skip-jump across town for a backup or gun-shot call..dont think it doesn't happen.
ReplyDeleteGus, you really need to learn your facts before you comment. This court will hear smoking tickets! They are talking about underage tobacco tickets. The city has a local ordinance for that charge! Only a state charge pertains to the Smoke Free Illinois Act. Also, the IDPH is the one set to enforce that! So are you saying the state charges will be heard in the court? You really need to stop, think, and research before you comment!
ReplyDeleteWonder if they were going to assist the fire department save some old coot that ate too much bacon and eggs and was having a grabber? Think they were going too fast on Saturday, Gus?
