Gonigam beats Nygren! $80,000 worth!!!

Be sure to read the articles on McHenry County Blog and FirstElectricNewspaper.com about Pete Gonigam's win over former Sheriff Nygren, who tried to keep a report on Zinke out of prying eyes. You do remember which report; right? The one where Nygren said Zinke didn't do anything wrong, after Zinke revealed a confidential DEA investigation to the president of RITA Corporation.

Judge Meyer also reportedly assessed a $5,000 fine, but it will be against McHenry County. It should have been against Nygren personally!

Brian Goode "just happened" to be a strong financial backer of Nygren's political campaigns, allowed Zinke to use his business address for his own political purposes, and kicked in some money on Zinke's own political campaign.

Goode's name is gone from the list of members of the McHenry County Sheriff's Department Merit Commission. (The other four familiar names are still there.)

Judge Thomas Meyer slammed Nygren for his "willful" refusal to comply with Gonigam's FOIA request, according to the headline on McHenry County Blog.

Judge Meyer finally ruled on what we all knew was true. Nygren, out of office since December 1, 2014, is still going to cost McHenry County taxpayers.

I was in Fort Myers, Fla. recently and kicked myself for not taking my last "Gus for Sheriff" with me. I had intended to go by Nygren's residence and plant it in his front yard (in the right-of-way, of course) for a photo opp. I wonder if he still owns the house there that a Crystal Lake bank over-loaned him on. Nygren has got to be way under-water on it. Remember? That was the one he said Mrs. Nygren took a homestead exemption on, while they still owned a house in McHenry County. Yeah, sure. "Marge did it." Where's the polygraph equipment???

You know, Keith? You really should not have pulled in and parked next to my car in the Jewel parking lot, while I was stopped to make a phone call, and then tried to accuse me of stalking you. Everybody got a good laugh at you about that. I should have had you arrested for stalking me!

Don't lower the U.S. Flag

Don't lower the U.S. Flag. Don't ever lower the U.S. Flag!

The Flag of the United States should fly high on every day of the year, except perhaps on the morning of Memorial Day.

I abhor the killings in Charleston and Chattanooga and at Ft. Hood and the twin towers and all the other unnamed (here) places. I say, out of respect for those who died, "Keep the Flag flying at the top of the mast."

Don't let terrorists or "lone wolves" force the lowering of the Flag. Otherwise, we will see the flag at half-mast more and more often.

And remove the stupid part of the law that allows the lowering of the U.S. Flag whenever some old geezer who sucked up Federal dollars for years falls over. Why should the Flag be lowered when a former, or even current, member of Congress dies, or a Governor, or some so-called dignitary? They aren't anyone special. They are just "people", like all the rest of us.

Will military fire on Americans?

Read this article from The Examiner: http://www.examiner.com/article/former-navy-seal-says-obama-asking-military-leaders-if-they-ll-disarm-americans

It ought to scare the living daylights out of every American.

With all the technical wizardry and extreme firepower of the military, sure, we'll be out-gunned. Civilians cannot legally own equivalent firearms.

But this country will remain in the hands of the free, and it will be ruled by the People. Pay attention, folks. Don't ever think for a moment that it can't happen here. All it takes for supreme power to take over is for the People to continue not paying attention to what is going on in government.

Attention for Trump

Initially I was not very excited about the entry of The Donald into the presidential fray, but I am re-thinking this.

Trump is saying what a lot of us are thinking. On Immigration. On John McCain.

It has become "politically incorrect" to challenge those who want to keep the Confederate Battle Flag flying or who don't agree with the gay marriage issue or who are appalled at the "Hands Up. Don't Shoot" and "I can't breathe" causes of riots, burnings and lootings or who believe that it's criminal who harm people with guns, not the guns.

But it is time in this country to stand up for what you believe in and to speak out about it. if some people gets their feelings hurt, so be it.

The presidential hopefuls who are calling for Trump to step out are scared for their own skins. Instead of taking a firm stand on immigration or that crimes are performed by Criminals, they are calling for Trump to clear out. Heck, they are just afraid because he is in front of them in the polls.

I got my fill of radio talkshows on a recent car trip. The reporters are dumber than wet kindling, asking their stupid questions and expressing their opinions about how "right" they are, like they are somebody special.

I've had a charge on the word "hero" for several years and dislike how easily media will slap the Hero badge on someone. So, is Trump right that McCain is only a hero because he was captured? Yes, McCain endured hardship and torture. Should that elevate him to Hero status? I think not.

Are all veterans "heroes"? Are all cops "heroes"? All firefighters? No, not at all. Go back to the definition of "hero".

Now, let's take Audie Murphy (1925-1971). Now there was a hero. Or the solder who throws himself on a grenade to save his buddies. He's a hero.

I take exception to the Northwest Herald labeling its McHenry County "heroes". They aren't. They are people doing nice things for others. But the Northwest Herald diminishes the "hero" category by using it for that purpose.

Did you hear Trump when that dumb reporter asked him if he carried a gun? He told her it was none of her business. How many people have the backbone to do that?

The upcoming debates should be very, very interesting.

California - just plain nutty

When you think  of Nancy Pelosi, remember that she is from California. When I saw her in the news this week, I thought, "She ought to be declared Public Enemy No. 1." Then I remembered that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama belong in the line-up, too. Guess there is a three-way tie for First Place.

The following came to me by e-mail, in case the NSA is snooping around.

Reprinted in its entirety.

CALIFORNIA, LARGEST INSANE ASYLUM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, ...LARGEST

Interesting that the LA Times printed this. Lou Dobbs reported this on CNN and it cost him his job. The only network we would see this on would be FOX. All the others are staying away from it. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican this should be of great interest to you!

Just One State - be sure and read the last part...try for 3 times.

This is only one State...If this doesn't open eyes, nothing will!
From the L. A. Times.

1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County (L.. A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8 Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. in L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County.)

(All 10 of the above facts were published in the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States 'annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

We are fools for letting this continue.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Send copies of this letter to at least two other people. 100 would be even better.

This is only one State...If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will, and you wonder why Nancy Pelosi wants them to become voters!

IF YOU DON'T AGREE JUST DELETE--IF YOU DO--PASS IT ON! WHERE DO WE GET THESE MORONS?

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.

Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds!

Alas, it is true -- all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!

This woman is frightening. She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), and in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest. (I am not rich, are you?)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:

'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans''.

(Read that quote again and again and let it sink in.) 'Lower your retirement; give it to others who have not worked as you have for it.' Send it on to your friends. I just did! This lady is out of her mind!

Chicago - a sanctuary city, too

Isn't Chicago a sanctuary city?

Read this article about a presumably-Mexican, 7-time felon, 5-time deportee who alleged killed a 32-year-old white-collar female resident of San Francisco.

Read about the screw-up between the San Francisco PD and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's ICE division.

Remember, this could happen in Chicago (or Cicero or Evanston). These are Illinois' three sanctuary cities, according to Steve Salvi, Founder of OJJPAC.org. OJJPAC is the Ohio Jobs & Justice PAC.

How many sanctuary cities are there in the U.S.? Take a guess. Get a pencil and paper and write down your guess. Do it! Are sanctuary cities only major cities?

Now, if you want to read something that ought to really "boil your oil", go to "The Original List of Sanctuary Cities, USA."

Count them. You'll probably give up before the end of the list. Surprised?

I was pleased not to find even one in S.C.

You'll love the first sentence in the article. "Despite a 1996 federal law [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA)] that requires local governments to cooperate with Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), many large urban cities (and some small) have adopted so-called "sanctuary" policies."

Ask yourself: How is it that many cities (large and small) can thumb their noses at this federal law, yet continue to receive federal funding?

Do you know what the policy is at the McHenry County Sheriff's Department, Crystal Lake PD, Woodstock PD, Harvard PD? If you live with their jurisdiction, find out!

Re-writing history

You've heard of the Confederate Battle Flag bruhaha, right? And Fort Sumter, in Charleston, S.C.?

Well, read this USAToday article, dated Monday, June 29, 2015.

"Confederate flag taken down at Fort Sumter"

Next? Just wait for the U.S. Department of Education to order all references to the Civil War removed from textbooks in any schools that receive Federal funding.

It didn't really happen. You know that, don't you?

And that old photo of a Philpott ancestor in his Civil War uniform hanging over the mantle in a North Carolina home (the photo, not the ancestor)? It was just photo-shopped.
